Honda launches BS6-compliant SP 125 motorcycle at Rs. 72,900
What's the story
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has launched its second BS6-compliant two-wheeler, the SP 125, in India at Rs. 72,990.
The new motorcycle, based on the company's best-selling CB Shine model, comes with a sportier design, updated features, and a more powerful engine.
Evidently, it will be available via Honda dealerships by the end of this month itself.

Design
Honda SP 125: At a glance
The Honda SP 125 features a semi-faired design and looks sportier than the CB Shine, thanks to the updated graphics, a longer seat, and angular-looking fuel tank extensions.
The motorcycle also gets a blacked-out treatment on the engine, grab rail, exhaust, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Besides that, it offers an all-new fully digital instrument cluster, LED DC headlamps, turn indicators, and LED taillights.

Power and performance
The SP 125 is powered by a BS6-compliant 124cc air-cooled engine which is capable of producing 10.7bhp of power at 7,500rpm and 10.9Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm.
The motorcycle also gets idle start-stop system that automatically turns the engine off when bike stops moving.
Notably, the company has claimed that the new model is 16% more fuel-efficient than the CB Shine.
Safety
Honda SP 125: On the road
On the safety front, Honda SP 125 comes equipped with 130mm drum brakes on both the wheels as standard (240mm front disc brake as optional), along with Combi-Brake System (CBS) for improved road handling.
The motorcycle houses telescopic fork on the front and hydraulic dual-shock unit on the rear to handle the suspension duties.

As far as pocket pinch is concerned, the Honda SP 125 is priced at Rs. 72,900 in India, which is approximately Rs. 9,000 costlier than the CB Shine. Lastly, the motorcycle is likely to reach dealerships by the end of this month.
