BS6 Honda Jazz teased in India, launch imminent
Honda is all set to launch the BS6-compliant version of its premium hatchback, the Jazz, in India in the coming weeks. In the latest update, the Japanese automaker has teased the arrival of the car on its official website. As per the teaser, the upcoming model will look largely similar to its BS4 counterpart. Here are more details.
How will it look like?
Going by the teaser image, the BS6 Honda Jazz will borrow its styling cues from its BS4 sibling. It is likely to sport a neat front fascia with a minimalistic chrome-finished grille, sleek LED headlamps, trapezoidal air inlets and fog lamp housings, as well as slightly-tweaked bumpers. The car will sport an angular side profile with diamond-cut alloy wheels and blacked-out B-pillars.
Inside the cabin
The BS6 Honda Jazz will come with a five-seater cabin featuring fabric upholstery, automatic climate control, and a three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel. The car will also offer a centrally-mounted 7-inch touchscreen infotainment panel with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Moreover, the upcoming hatchback will retain the standard safety elements of its BS4 counterpart.
Power and performance
The new Honda Jazz will be offered with two BS6-compliant engines: 1.2-liter petrol and a 1.5-liter diesel. The former is likely to produce 90hp of maximum power and 110Nm of peak torque, while the latter will churn out 100hp and 200Nm. To manage transmission duties, the car will be available with both 5-speed manual and automatic transmission options.
And, how much will it cost?
Honda will reveal the pricing and availability details of the BS6-compliant Jazz during the launch, which is likely to happen in the coming weeks. However, going by the reports, it will carry a slight premium over the BS4 model, which falls under Rs. 7.45-9.41 lakh bracket.
