Honda launches BS6-compliant City sedan for Rs. 9.91 lakh
Japanese automaker Honda has launched the BS6-compliant version of its popular sedan, the City, in India at a starting price of Rs. 9.91 lakh. The new model gets an upgraded petrol-powered engine to comply with the upcoming emission norms. It also sports an updated infotainment unit with Digipad 2.0 connectivity feature and plush interiors. The BS6 model looks similar to the outgoing model
The upgraded Honda City looks similar to the outgoing model. It comes with a sporty design featuring a cascading grille with honeycomb patterns, a revised front bumper, and sportier sculpted lines. The car also houses 16-inch alloy wheels, electronically adjustable ORVMs with mounted indicators, and blacked-out B-pillars. Apart from that, it houses projector headlamps, LED taillights, and offers a boot space of 510 liters.
The cabin gets a new infotainment system
Inside, the Honda City comes with a five-seater cabin featuring leather upholstery, a sunroof, and a three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel with cruise control. The higher variants of the car also get a new 7-inch Digipad 2.0 infotainment panel which offers support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. For safety features, it gets ABS with EBD, upto six airbags, and rear parking sensors.
Under the hood
The sedan is powered by a BS6-compliant 1.5-liter i-VTEC petrol engine which is capable of producing 119bhp of power and 145Nm of peak torque. For transmission duties, it is available with both a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox that sends power to the front wheels.

As for the pocket pinch, the new Honda City starts at Rs. 9.91 lakh for the entry-level SV model with manual transmission and goes upto Rs. 14.31 lakh for the ZX variant with CVT system. At this price point, the car goes up against rivals such as Toyota Yaris and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
