2020 BS6 Hero XPulse 200 officially listed, launch expected soon
Hero MotoCorp, one of India's leading two-wheeler manufacturers, is all set to launch the BS6-compliant XPulse 200 in the coming weeks. The motorcycle has been listed on the company's official website, revealing its design and all the key specifications. With the BS6 upgrade, the adventure tourer now produces marginally lesser power than its BS4 sibling. Here are more details.
A look at the BS6 Hero XPulse 200
The Hero XPulse 200 sits on the same diamond type frame as the outgoing model and features an off-road friendly design with rugged tires, windscreen, a flat-type seat, and a decent ground clearance that makes it ideal for rough terrains. The motorcycle houses a digital instrument cluster and gets all-LED fitments for lighting. Besides that, it is also 3kg heavier than its BS4 sibling.
A look at the engine and power output
The Hero XPulse 200 draws power from a BS6-compliant 199.6cc air-cooled engine that comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. This motor is capable of producing 17.8hp of maximum power at 8,500rpm and 16.4Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm.
Hero XPulse 200: On the road
On the safety front, the new Hero XPulse 200 comes equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear ends, along with single-channel ABS to avoid skidding while braking. The suspension duties on the motorcycle are taken care of by conventional telescopic forks on the front and a 10-step rider-adjustable mono-shock unit on the rear.
And, how much will it cost?
Hero MotoCorp is yet to reveal the official prices of the Pulse 200 model. However, looking at the updates, it would carry a slight premium over the BS4 model that was launched at a starting price of Rs. 99,500 in India.
