BS6-ready Volkswagen Polo and Vento launched: Details here
German automaker Volkswagen has launched the BS6-compliant versions of the Polo and Vento cars in India today. The former comes at a starting price of Rs. 5.82 lakh, while the latter is priced at Rs. 8.86 lakh. Notably, both the cars are offered with petrol engines only and share the design and features with their respective BS4 counterparts. Here are more details.
A look at both the cars
Both the Volkswagen Polo and Vento feature an eye-catching look and come with an attractive sporty stance. However, the former is a family hatchback, while the latter is a compact sedan. Both models sport a neat front fascia featuring a sleek grille with honeycomb patterns and trapezoidal air inlets. Also, these cars run on angular-looking alloy wheels and are available with attractive color options.
Inside the cabin
Inside, both the Vento and Polo offer a spacious five-seater cabin featuring height-adjustable driver seat, power windows, auto-dimming IRVM, and a three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel. These cars also house a centrally-aligned touchscreen infotainment system with support for voice control, Bluetooth, and connectivity features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Moreover, they retain the safety features of their BS4 counterparts.
Power and performance
The Volkswagen Vento, Polo Highline+ and Polo GT variants come with a BS6-compliant 1.0-liter TSI engine which is capable of producing 110PS of power and 175Nm of peak torque. The other variants of the Polo hatchback are offered with a 1.0-liter MPI petrol unit that makes 76PS and 95Nm. Further, both models are available with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission option.
