BS6-compliant TVS NTorq scooter to be priced under Rs. 70,000
In an unexpected move, TVS Motor Company has announced the prices of the BS6-compliant NTorq 125, well ahead of its launch in India. The updated model will come at a starting price of Rs. 65,975. This is almost Rs. 10,000 more than the price of the outgoing model. Meanwhile, the company is yet to reveal the mechanical specifications and features of the scooter.
The BS6-ready TVS NTorq could get a new LED headlamp
Much like the BS4 model, the new NTorq 125 is likely to come with a stylish look featuring an angular front apron as well as side profile, split grab rail, blacked-out alloy wheels, and an attractive paint job. Apart from that, the scooter would get a new LED headlamp and a fully-digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity.
Power and performance
The BS6-compliant TVS NTorq 125 is expected to get fuel-injection technology as against the carburetor system which we have seen on the BS4 model. The new model will also get some minor updates on the exhaust system. In the BS4 form, the 124.79cc engine churns out 9.4PS of maximum power and 10.5Nm of peak torque.
What about safety and suspension setup?
In the safety department, the BS6 TVS NTorq 125 is likely to come equipped with disc/drum brake on the front wheel, drum brake on the rear wheel, along with mandatory combined braking system for better grip on the road. To handle suspension duties, it would house telescopic forks up front and a monoshock absorber on the rear.

The BS6-ready TVS NTorq 125 scooter costs Rs. 65,975 for the drum brake model and Rs. 69,975 for the disc brake variant. There is also a more premium Race Edition model and it is priced at Rs. 72,455.
