BS6-compliant TVS NTorq 125's power figures revealed: Details here
A few days back, we reported that TVS Motor Company has revealed the prices of the BS6-compliant version of the NTorq 125 scooter. And now, the home-grown automaker has revealed the mechanical specifications of the updated model, confirming that the new scooter carries a slightly bigger fuel tank and produces the same power as its BS4 counterpart. Here are more details.
A look at the BS6 TVS NTorq 125
The BS6-compliant TVS NTorq 125 comes with the same sporty design as the outgoing model. It features an angular-looking front-apron with mounted LED headlight, dual-tone color scheme, and a fully-digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity. Besides that, the scooter gets a slightly bigger 5.8-liter fuel tank and is 1.9kg heavier than its BS4 counterpart.
Power and performance
The new TVS NTorq 125 draws power from a BS6-compliant 124.8cc air-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that produces the same power as the outgoing model. The updated unit churns out 9.4PS of maximum power at 7,500rpm and 10.5Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm.
What about safety and suspension setup?
In the braking department, the TVS NTorq 125 comes equipped with disc/drum brake on the front wheel, drum brake on the rear wheel, along with Synchronized Braking Technology (SBT) for improved braking efficiency. The suspension duties on the scooter are taken care of by telescopic forks up front and a mono-shock unit on the rear.
And, what is the pricing?
The BS6-compliant TVS NTorq 125 carries a premium of Rs. 6,500 over its BS4 counterpart. The scooter costs Rs. 65,975 for the drum brake model and Rs. 69,975 for the disc brake variant. There is also a more premium Race Edition model and it is priced at Rs. 72,455. Lastly, it competes against Hero Maestro Edge 125 and Aprilia SR 125.
