BS6-compliant Mahindra Bolero spotted sans camouflage, key details revealed
Mahindra-mahindra'>Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to launch the BS6-compliant version of its popular SUV, the Bolero, in India in the coming weeks. And now, the upcoming car has been spotted without camouflage, revealing its key design highlights. Reportedly, the new model will carry a premium of Rs. 50,000 over the BS4 variant and will be offered in three variants: B4, B6, and B6(O).
A look at the new Mahindra Bolero
Going by the latest spy shots, the updated Mahindra Bolero will retain the boxy stance of the outgoing model but will come with a bunch of cosmetic tweaks including a new chrome-finished vertical-slat grille, and a redesigned front bumper and apron. Apart from that, the car will also get redesigned headlamps, trapezoidal fog lamp units, and square-ish wheel arches.
Inside the cabin
Much like the outgoing model, the BS6-compliant Bolero will sport an eight-seater cabin with power windows and a three-spoke steering wheel. Meanwhile, as part of the update, it may get a new touchscreen infotainment unit. The upcoming car also complies with the crash-test norms and will come with safety features like driver and passenger airbags, ABS with EBD, and a speed-alert system.
Power and performance
The new Mahindra Bolero will reportedly draw power from a BS6-compliant 1.5-liter diesel engine that is used in the Bolero Power Plus model. This motor comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and is capable of producing 71PS of maximum power.
And, what about pricing and availability?
The BS6-compliant Mahindra Bolero is likely to be launched in India in the coming weeks (before the mandatory BS6 norms come into effect). As far as pricing is concerned, the SUV is likely to carry a premium of Rs. 50,000 over its BS4 counterpart, and is expected to come at a starting price of around Rs. 8 lakh.
