BS6-compliant Honda CB Shine to be more powerful: Details here
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), is gearing up to launch a BS6-compatible model of its mid-range CB Shine 125 motorcycle in India soon. The details of the upcoming two-wheeler have surfaced online, revealing its engine specifications, dimensions, and power figures. Notably, this will be HMSI's second model complying with the new emission norms after the recently-launched BS6-compliant Honda Activa 125.
First, let's take a look at the upcoming motorcycle
Going by the leaks, the CB Shine 125 SP will be longer, wider, and taller than the current model. Hence, it will essentially be an all-new avatar. At present, the motorcycle sits on a diamond type frame and sports a semi-faired look with a blacked-out engine and alloy wheels. It also houses a digital-analog console unit along with halogen headlamp, indicators, and taillights.
Power and performance
The leak suggests that the upcoming model will be powered by a 125cc BS6-compliant, fuel-injected engine. This unit will churn out 10.88PS of maximum power, which is marginally more than the current variant that produces 10.3PS. As for transmission duties, the bike is likely to come equipped with the same 5-speed manual gearbox.
What about safety and suspension setup?
In the safety department, the CB Shine 125 SP is likely to come equipped with disc/drum brake on the front wheel, drum brake on the rear wheel, along with mandatory combined braking system (CBS). As for suspension duties, it is expected to house conventional telescopic forks on the front and a dual-shock unit on the rear.
And, how much will it cost?
Reportedly, the upcoming Honda CB Shine 125 SP will cost 10-15% more than the outgoing variant. Hence, given the current model starts at Rs. 64,000, we expect the new bike to arrive at a starting price of somewhere around Rs. 71,000.
