BS6-compliant Honda Activa 125 to launch on September 11
Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India (HMSI) is all set to launch the Honda Activa 125 on September 11. The new model, which was unveiled in June, comes with a couple of design updates and is expected to carry a premium of Rs. 5,000 over the current model. Notably, the upcoming scooter is also the first BS6-compliant two-wheeler from the company. Here's our roundup.
First, a look at the Honda Activa 125
The 2019 Honda Activa 125 features a sporty look with sharp edged bumpers, blacked-out mirrors, chrome garnishing on the side panels, and indicator-mounted silver-colored front forks. Talking about electronic features, the scooter sports a digital-analog instrument console, LED headlamps with DRLs, and LED taillamp. Furthermore, it comes with sheet metal wheels as standard, but there is an option for alloy wheels as well.
Power and performance
The 2019 Honda Activa is powered by a BS6-compliant 124cc air cooled, single cylinder, 4-Stroke engine which is capable of producing 8.29PS of power and 10.54Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to an automatic CVT and promises an ARAI certified mileage of 60kmpl.
2019 Honda Activa 125: On the road
As for braking performance, the 2019 Honda Activa 125 comes equipped with drum brake on the front (disc brake as optional), drum brake on the rear, and combined braking system (CBS) for better road handling. Further, the scooter houses telescopic forks on the front along with spring loaded hydraulic type suspension on the rear side to handle suspension duties.
And, what about pricing?
As far as pricing is concerned, the BS6-compliant Honda Activa 125 is expected to cost somewhere around Rs. 65,000 in India. However, official details will be announced by the company during the launch event, which is scheduled for September 11.
