Bookings for the BS6-ready Hero XPulse 200 commence: Details here
Hero MotoCorp is gearing up to launch the BS6-compliant version of its off-roader, the XPulse 200, in India next month. In the latest development, a BikeDekho report has claimed that select company dealerships have unofficially started accepting the bookings for the motorcycle at a token amount ranging from Rs. 1,000-2,000. Here are more details.
Hero XPulse 200: At a glance
The BS6-compliant Hero XPulse 200 is likely to retain the design of its BS4 counterpart. The motorcycle would sit on a diamond type frame and feature a naked street look with a flat type seat, matte-finished paint scheme, a wind-screen, and rounded LED headlamp. Apart from that, the adventure bike would also come equipped with off-road friendly tires, skid plates, and LED taillights.
Power and performance
The new Hero XPulse 200 will draw power from the same 199.6cc single-cylinder engine as the outgoing model. But, the company would update the unit to comply with the emission norms. In the BS4 guise, this mill is capable of producing 18.4PS of maximum power at 8,000rpm and 17.1Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm.
What about safety and suspension setup?
On the safety front, the BS6-compliant Hero XPulse 200 comes equipped with disc brakes on both the ends, along with single-channel ABS to avoid skidding while braking. The suspension duties on the off-roader would be taken care of by telescopic forks up front and a 10-step adjustable monoshock unit on the rear.
And, what will be the pocket-pinch?
There is no official word on the pricing of BS6-compliant Hero XPulse 200 in India as of now. However, reports suggest that the motorcycle would carry a premium of around Rs. 10,000 over the BS4 model, which is priced at Rs. 1.06 lakh.
