BS6 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 launched at Rs. 1.25 lakh
Bajaj Auto has officially launched the BS6-compliant version of its sports bike, the Pulsar NS200, in India. The new motorcycle is priced at Rs. 1.25 lakh, which is almost Rs. 11,000 costlier than the BS4 model. The updated version produces marginally more torque than the outgoing variant but cosmetically, it remains unchanged. Here's our roundup.
A look at the BS6 Bajaj Pulsar NS200
The new Pulsar NS200 sits on a perimeter chassis and features a naked-street design with angular looking headlamp cluster as well as fuel tank extensions, stepped-up seat, and blacked-out alloy wheels with body-colored accents. It comes with a semi-digital instrument console and houses dual-LED tail lamps. Further, the bike is available in four colors: Graphite Black, Mirage White, Fiery Yellow, and Wild Red.
Power and performance
The new Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is powered by a BS6-compliant 199.5cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. It is capable of producing 24.5PS of maximum power and 18.5Nm of peak torque.
What about safety and suspension setup?
On the safety front, the BS6-compliant Bajaj Pulsar NS200 comes equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with single-channel ABS to avoid skidding while braking. The suspension duties on the sports tourer are taken care of by inverted telescopic forks up front and a mono-shock unit on the rear.
And, what about pricing?
As far as pocket-pinch is concerned, the BS6-compliant Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is priced at Rs. 1.25 lakh, which is Rs. 10,675 more than its BS4 counterpart. At this price point, it competes against TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and KTM 200 Duke.
