Prior to debut in India, Bounce electric scooter spied testing
Bengaluru-based EV rental service Bounce is expected to unveil its new scooter in India soon. In the latest development, a test mule of the vehicle sans camouflage has been spied testing on the roads, revealing key design details. The pictures suggest that it will have a digital instrument cluster, an LED headlamp, and blacked-out wheels. Here are more details.
Why does the story matter?
The upcoming two-wheeler will be Bounce's first scooter in India. The company claims that the model will be equipped with the first made-in-India swappable battery. The vehicle is expected to be reasonably priced so as to increase competition in the market. It will take on rivals such as the Ather 450X, Ola S1, Simple One, and Bajaj Chetak.
The scooter will have a single-piece seat and round mirrors
The Bounce electric scooter will flaunt a retro-inspired look, featuring a circular headlight as well as mirrors, a flat footboard, and a single-piece seat with a pillion grab rail. It will be available in at least a red shade. The vehicle will pack an LED headlamp, a digital instrument console, and ride on blacked-out wheels. Its kerb weight will be disclosed later.
It should have a range of around 80km
The upcoming Bounce scooter will draw power from an electric motor linked to a swappable battery setup. The power figures are currently unknown but the vehicle is expected to deliver a range of around 80km per charge.
It will get telescopic front forks
In terms of safety equipment, the Bounce electric scooter will be equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels. It should also get a CBS or ABS for improved handling on the roads. Suspension duties on the two-wheeler will be taken care of by telescopic forks on the front side and a single-sided shock absorber on the rear end.
How much will it cost?
Pricing and availability details of the Bounce electric scooter in India will be disclosed at the time of launch. However, the vehicle is expected to sport a price-figure of around Rs. 50,000 (ex-showroom).
