As for the highlights, the motorcycle will have a revised look and shall offer electronic riding aids, including a traction control system.
Why does this story matter?
The all-new Yamaha MT-15 V2.0 will offer cosmetic and mechanical updates over its predecessor and should deliver a better performance. It is tipped to be priced competitively in our market. A lot of buyers should be interested in getting their hands on this two-wheeler, and the competition in its segment would be raised to a great extent.
The bike will flaunt a rear tire hugger
The Yamaha MT-15 V2.0 will sit on a deltabox frame and sport a muscular fuel tank with extensions, a stepped-up seat, a side-mounted exhaust, a rear tire hugger, and arrowhead-shaped mirrors. The motorbike will pack a digital instrument console, an all-LED setup for lighting, and will ride on alloy wheels. Its kerb weight and fuel storage capacity will be disclosed later.
It should run on a 18hp, 155cc engine
The Yamaha MT-15 V2.0 is likely to be fueled by a BS6-compliant 155cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC engine linked to a 6-speed gearbox and a quickshifter. The motor will generate a maximum power of 18hp at 10,000rpm and a peak torque of 13.9Nm at 8,500rpm.
It will get inverted front forks
To ensure the rider's safety, the Yamaha MT-15 V2.0 will be equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with single-channel ABS and traction control for better handling on the roads. Suspension duties on the motorcycle will be taken care of by inverted telescopic forks on the front side and a mono-shock unit on the rear end.
