You can now book Tata Altroz automatic variant in India
Tata Motors has started accepting bookings for the automatic variant of the Altroz hatchback in India. Interested buyers can book the Altroz DCA for a token amount of Rs. 21,000. The new variant will come with a dual-clutch automatic (DCA) transmission and its deliveries will start later this month. The prices for the Altroz DCA are expected to be announced in the coming days.
Why does this story matter?
Since its debut in India, the Altroz has been available only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. However, that has not affected its popularity. The hatchback is the second bestselling hatchback in India, only behind the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Hence, the upcoming Altroz automatic will surely boost sales for the automaker. In terms of design and features, it will be identical to the manual variant.
The automatic variant will get a new Opera Blue color
Tata Altroz has a sporty stance with a sleek black grille, swept-back projector headlights with DRLs, and a wide air dam. The angular profile is accentuated by blacked-out B-pillars, ORVMs, dual-tone alloy wheels, and wrap-around taillamps. Dimensions-wise, the car has a wheelbase of 2,501mm and a ground clearance of 165mm. The upcoming automatic variant will be offered in a new Opera Blue color option.
The automatic variant will be offered with 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine
The manual variant of the Altroz is up for grabs with three engine choices. However, the upcoming automatic variant will be offered with a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine that makes 109hp/140Nm. Transmission duties will be handled by a dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The car provides automatic climate control and key-less entry
Tata Altroz has a feature-rich 5-seater cabin, offering auto climate control, rear AC vents, key-less entry, USB chargers, and cruise control. At the center, there is a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment panel that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. On the safety front, the hatchback gets two airbags, a rear-view camera, ABS with EBD, and crash sensors, among other features.
