2023 Tata Harrier and Safari revealed with ADAS functions
Homegrown automaker Tata Motors has revealed the 2023 iterations of the capable Harrier and the flagship Safari in India. The brand has opened the order books for both vehicles on our shores as well. The updated models get a minor refresh to the design and feature ADAS functions for added safety. Both SUVs run on a BS6 Phase 2-compliant 2.0-liter "Kryotec" diesel engine.
Why does this story matter?
Ever since their arrival in India, both the Harrier and Safari have been breakthrough products for Tata Motors. The SUVs, with their strong road presence and tech-forward yet luxurious cabins, have created a loyal fan following for the brand on our shores. To increase the safety quotient and desirability of both vehicles, the company has added ADAS functions as part of MY-2023 update.
2023 Tata Harrier
The 2023 Tata Harrier retains the overall design of the outgoing model and flaunts bumper-mounted projector headlights, a muscular hood, a blacked-out grille, ORVMs, roof rails, silvered skid plates, sleek LED taillamps, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the five-seater cabin features a dashboard with faux wood trims, an air purifier, a digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment console, six airbags, and ADAS functions.
It is offered with a 2.0-liter "Kryotec" diesel engine
The 2023 Tata Harrier is powered by a BS6 Phase 2-compliant 2.0-liter "Kryotec," turbocharged diesel engine that produces a maximum power of 178hp and a peak torque of 350Nm. The mill is mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox.
2023 Tata Safari
The 2023 Tata Safari is a flagship model for the brand in India and sports a long and sculpted hood, a chromed grille, bumper-mounted projector headlights, a wide air dam, a raked windscreen, roof rails, flared wheel arches, 18-inch alloy wheels, and wrap-around LED taillights. The six/seven-seater features a panoramic sunroof, blue-colored ambient lighting, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, six airbags, and ADAS functions.
It is backed by the same 2.0-liter "Kryotec" diesel engine
Much like its younger sibling, the Harrier, the 2023 Tata Safari also draws power from the same BS6 Phase 2-compliant 2.0-liter "Kryotec," turbocharged diesel motor that develops 178hp/350Nm. Transmission duties are carried over by either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox.
