BMW X3 M SUV spotted testing in India, launch imminent
BMW is working on launching its performance-oriented SUV, the X3 M, in India in the second half of this year. Now, a camouflaged test mule of the upcoming car has been spotted, hinting at an imminent launch. The SUV, which made its global debut in 2019, is offered in two variants: Standard and Competition. Notably, the company would bring the former to our shores.
A look at the BMW X3 M
Going by the spy shots, the India-specific BMW X3 M will come with a similar design as the international variant. The car will get a sporty look with an appealing front profile featuring the company's signature kidney grille, LED headlights with mounted DRLs, and wild air inlets. Further, the car will house sporty-looking alloy wheels, indicator-mounted ORVMs, and LED taillamps.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the X3 M will offer a luxurious and feature-loaded cabin with power-adjustable seats wrapped in leather, a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, and a three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel. The car house a fully-digital instrument cluster and a floating touchscreen infotainment panel with support for connectivity features. For safety, it gets driver and passenger airbags, ABS with EBD, and several other driver-centric features.
Under the hood
The BMW X3 M is fueled by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo, six-cylinder petrol engine that comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, which sends power to all the wheels. The motor is capable of producing 473bhp of maximum power and an impressive 600Nm of peak torque. Further, the SUV can do a 0-100kmph sprint in 4.2 seconds.
And, what will be the pocket-pinch?
Understandably, with its premium design, luxury features, and a powerful engine with blaring performance, the BMW X3 M won't come cheap. Going by the reports, the SUV is likely to be priced around Rs. 1.2-1.5 crore in the country.
