This limited-run BMW M4 CS pays homage to Valentino Rossi
What's the story
BMW has unveiled the 2025 M4 CS Edition VR46, the most expensive M4 ever, as a special edition model.
This one-of-a-kind vehicle pays tribute to Valentino Rossi and is limited to just 92 units.
Rossi, aka "The Doctor," is a nine-time Grand Prix motorcycle racing world champion and a BMW Motorsport works driver.
The car's design features his iconic "46" racing number, commemorating a major milestone in his career.
Exteriors
Unique design elements and color options
The M4 CS Edition VR46 comes in two exclusive colors: Marina Bay Blue Metallic and Matte Frozen Tanzanite Blue Metallic. These color options weren't available for the standard M4 CS.
The car sports an eye-catching "46" motif, and Sao Paulo Yellow accents that pay tribute to Rossi's signature fluorescent yellow livery.
The brake calipers are also painted in a bright yellow shade, further enhancing the car's uniqueness.
Signature features
Hand-painted logos and autographed roof
The M4 CS Edition VR46 keeps the exposed carbon fiber of the regular M4 CS but adds hand-painted "46" logos and an autographed roof by Rossi.
The rear of the car features "VR6" lettering. The Sao Paulo Yellow color also finds its way on the forged wheels to show where the tire valve stem is located.
Inside, you see more yellow and a prominent "VR46" theme on door sills, seats, etc.
Engine
Performance specifications and limited production
The M4 CS Edition VR46 shares the same mechanicals as the regular M4 CS. It is powered by a twin-turbo, 3.0-liter inline-six engine that produces 543hp.
The car also comes with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and xDrive, enabling it to go from 0-97km/h in just 3.2 seconds, and hit a top speed of 303km/h.
BMW will only make 92 units of this special edition, split equally between the two colors.
Cost and perks
Pricing and exclusive experience for owners
The M4 CS Edition VR46 comes at a price of $155,000 (around ₹1.35 crore), excluding destination charges.
This makes it the priciest M4-badged car ever, $31,500 more than the M4 CS and $15,100 higher than the two-seater M4 CSL.
Owners of this special edition model will also get a chance to meet Rossi in Italy at his VR46 Motor Ranch in Tavullia, and test drive the latest M models at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
