BMW to launch R 18 Bagger motorcycle later this year
BMW Motorrad will launch the Bagger variant of its R 18 cruiser motorcycle within the next few months. It should also arrive in India. The Bagger model will look similar to the standard R 18 but with some cosmetic additions such as a large fairing on the front and an electronically-adjustable windscreen. It will run on a 1,802cc, air-cooled, boxer-twin engine. Here's our roundup.
The bike will have a full-LED lighting setup
The BMW R 18 Bagger will have an old-school cruiser look, featuring a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a stepped-up seat, a lengthy exhaust pipe, and a large front fairing. An electronically-adjustable windscreen and an integrated luggage compartment on the rear will also be available. The bike will house an analog instrument console, an all-LED setup for lighting, and shall ride on alloy wheels.
It will run on a 90hp, 1,802cc engine
The BMW R 18 Bagger will draw power from a 1,802cc, air-cooled, boxer-twin engine linked to a 6-speed gearbox. The mill generates a maximum power of 90hp at 4,750rpm and a peak torque of 158Nm at 3,000rpm.
Disc brakes on both the wheels will ensure safety
To ensure the safety of the rider, the BMW R 18 Bagger will be equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with dual-channel ABS for improved handling on the roads. Suspension duties on the cruiser motorcycle will be taken care of by telescopic front forks and a steel swingarm with a central shock strut on the rear end.
