BMW R 1300 GS pre-bookings open in India via dealerships
BMW Motorrad has started accepting pre-bookings for its upcoming motorcycle, the R 1300 GS, at select dealerships. The booking amount ranges from ₹50,000 to ₹1 lakh. The official launch of the new model is anticipated in the coming months. The R 1300 GS is expected to be priced around ₹1.5 lakh to ₹2 lakh higher than its predecessor, the R 1250 GS, which is currently priced at ₹20.55 lakh ex-showroom.
R 1300 GS: BMW's most powerful production motorcycle yet
The R 1300 GS is powered by a 1,300cc, two-cylinder boxer engine that delivers a maximum power of 143hp at 7,750rpm and a peak torque of 149Nm at 6,500rpm. This engine is the most powerful one ever used by BMW in a production motorcycle. It's also lighter than its predecessor. The new model features an entirely new suspension setup and chassis, resulting in a weight reduction of 12kg compared to the previous model.
R 1300 GS: Advanced riding modes and standard features
The R 1300 GS offers four standard riding modes: 'Rain' and 'Road' for varying road conditions, 'Eco' for fuel efficiency, and 'Enduro' for off-road adventures. Riders also have the option to select additional 'Pro' modes. The motorcycle comes equipped with standard features like Full Integral ABS Pro, Engine drag torque control, dynamic brake assist, ride-off assistant, Dynamic Traction Control, Dynamic Cruise Control, USB socket, and a 12V outlet.
Optional equipment and comfort features of R 1300 GS
Optional equipment for the R 1300 GS includes Active Cruise Control, Front Collision Warning, and Lane Change Warning. Heated grips are now standard on this model while heated seats will be available at an extra cost. BMW Motorrad offers various seat heights to cater to different riders along with a handlebar riser that increases the height by 30mm. The motorcycle is fitted with a BMW Motorrad EVO-Telelever center monoshock in the front and a BMW Motorrad EVO-Paralever at the rear.
