Expanding its line-up of motorcycles, BMW Motorrad India has launched the all-new R 1250 R and R 1250 RT bikes in India. The R 1250 R comes with a naked street design, while the more-premium R 1250 RT is a fully-faired tourer motorcycle. Notably, both the flagship models will be imported to India via the completely built-up (CBU) route. Here's our roundup.
At a glance
The BMW R 1250 R features a naked street design with a muscular-looking fuel-tank, split seats, blacked-out alloy wheels, and a 6.5-inch full-color infotainment panel that can be paired with your smartphone via Bluetooth or BMW app. On the other hand, the BMW R 1250 RT sports a fully-faired design with dual-tone color scheme, a tall windshield, chrome-finished exhaust, and a 5.7-inch TFT panel.
Power and performance
Both the BMW R 1250 R and R 1250 RT pack the same 1,254cc engine which also gets company's ShiftCam (variable valve timing) technology. This engine, mated to a six-speed gearbox, produces 134bhp power, 143Nm of peak torque, and promises a top-speed of over 200kmph.
Here's a look at the safety and suspension setup
These bikes come equipped with disc brakes on both the wheels along with a bunch of riding assist features including dual-channel ABS, hill start control, and Automatic Stability Control (ASC) as standard. Further, the motorcycles offer two riding modes and house upside-down (USD) forks on the front and monoshock suspension on the rear.

In terms of pricing, the BMW R 1250 R is priced at Rs. 15.95 lakh, while the BMW R 1250 RT costs Rs. 22.5 lakh in India. Moreover, the bookings for both motorcycles are live via company's dealerships across the country.
