    BMW M340i to be launched in India on March 10

    What's the story

    BMW is working to expand its 3 Series line-up in India with a new performance-oriented M340i model which will be launched in the country on March 10. It will be the first M Performance car to be locally assembled in India.

    As for the key highlights, the M340i will arrive as a sportier version of the 3 Series sedan, packing a 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine.

    The BMW M340i will feature a sloping roofline, a sculpted bonnet, the company's signature kidney grille, body-colored bumpers, and a wide air dam. For lighting, it will house LED headlights, LED DRLs, and LED taillamps.

    On the sides, the sedan will be flanked by power-adjustable ORVMs, designer alloy wheels, and blacked-out B-pillars. The rear section will have wraparound lights and twin exhausts.

    Power and performance

    The BMW M340i will draw power from a 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder, twin-turbocharged petrol motor that delivers 374hp of maximum power and 500Nm of peak torque. The motor will be paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

    Inside the cabin

    The BMW M340i will offer a premium cabin with a dual-tone dashboard, ambient lighting, 3-zone automatic climate control, front and rear parking sensors, and power windows.

    It will also pack a digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment console with support for BMW's iDrive system, voice commands, and gesture control.

    Safety provisions on the car should include multiple airbags and a parking camera.

    How much will it cost?

    The official pricing and availability details of the BMW M340i in India will be announced at the time of launch on March 10. However, it is expected to be priced at around Rs. 50 lakh (ex-showroom).
