BMW M 1000 RR to debut in India soon
BMW Motorrad will launch its M 1000 RR performance motorbike in India soon, the company has announced on Twitter. To recall, it was unveiled globally last year. As for the key highlights, the bike is based on the BMW S 1000 RR model but comes with a bunch of styling upgrades as well as a more refined 999cc engine. Here's our roundup.
It sports a 6.5-inch TFT display
The BMW M 1000 RR sits on a bridge-type aluminium frame and has an aggressive semi-faired look. It features a stepped-up seat, a raised windshield, a split-headlamp cluster, heated grips, carbon fiber M winglets, and a lightweight titanium exhaust. The bike also houses a USB charging socket, an all-LED lighting setup, a 6.5-inch TFT screen, M carbon fiber wheels, and a lightweight M battery.
The vehicle runs on a 209hp, 999cc engine
The BMW M 1000 RR draws power from a 999cc, water-cooled, 4-cylinder engine that produces 209hp of power at 14,500rpm and 113Nm of torque at 11,000rpm. The motor is linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a bi-directional quickshifter.
Dual-channel ABS ensures safety of the rider
The BMW M 1000 RR is equipped with disc brakes on both the wheels, along with dual-channel ABS, traction control, wheelie control, and hill-start control, among other electronic aids. It also offers five riding modes: Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race, and Race Pro. Suspension duties on the bike are handled by inverted telescopic forks on the front side and an aluminium swingarm on the rear.
