2025 BMW i4 electric sedan breaks cover: Check what's new
BMW has unveiled its updated i4 electric sedan and deliveries will begin from July this year. The new model features subtle exterior modifications and an improved infotainment system. Key changes include new LED lights and a matte chrome grille surround, maintaining a similar aesthetic to its predecessor. The front profile is distinctive, highlighting the large signature kidney grille of the OEM.
BMW i4 gets Laserlight tail lights as an optional feature
The redesigned headlights of the updated BMW i4 now emanate both high and low beams from a single LED module, creating a unique vertical arrow-shaped light signature for the LED daytime running lights and indicators. The rear profile has been subtly tweaked with a new gloss black diffuser in the lower bumpers. Additionally, BMW is offering Laserlight tail lights as an optional feature, along with new alloy wheel designs.
The new i4 can estimate the state of charge
Inside the updated BMW i4, the curved touchscreen infotainment system has been enhanced with a simplified menu structure. A significant upgrade is the new routing system for the built-in navigation function, which can now include charging stops on long journeys. The new i4 can estimate the state of charge along the journey and update the route accordingly. This feature was previously used by Tesla for their Model 3 EV.
The sportier versions get premium upholstery and M steering wheel
The sportier M Performance and M Sport versions of the updated BMW i4 come with new Performtex velour-like upholstery and a sporty flat-bottomed M steering wheel. These versions also feature a new vent controller design. Despite these interior changes, the powertrain remains unchanged for the new BMW i4, continuing to offer eDrive30 and eDrive40 in the regular portfolio, and the high-performance M50 at the top of its line-up.
i4 eDrive40 boasts the maximum range to 600 kilometers
The BMW i4 eDrive30 delivers 282hp and features the smallest battery of the lineup, providing a range of up to 500 kilometers on a single charge. In contrast, the i4 eDrive40 boasts 335hp with a larger battery, extending its range to a maximum of 600 kilometers. The M50, the most potent variant in the line-up, delivers a peak power of 536hp and a range of up to 521 kilometers on a single charge.
