Why does this story matter?
For those who felt that BMW was being partial by increasing just the price of the G 310 GS, you can hold your horses. The company has also hiked the cost of its roadster sibling, the G 310 R. Despite the price-revision, the G 310 R is still substantially cheaper than its main rival, the KTM 390 Duke.
The bike has 17-inch cast aluminium wheels
The BMW G 310 R sits on a tubular frame and has a muscular fuel tank, a stepped-up saddle, golden-colored front forks, and an upswept exhaust. The bike packs a digital instrument console, an all-LED setup for lighting, and rides on 17-inch designer cast aluminium wheels. It has a fuel storage capacity of 11-liter and tips the scales at 164kg.
It draws power from a 313cc engine
The BMW G 310 R runs on a 313cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that generates 33.5hp of maximum power and 28Nm of peak torque. The motor is paired to a 6-speed gearbox.
It has dual-channel ABS for safety
To ensure the safety of the rider, the BMW G 310 R is equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels along with dual-channel ABS for better handling on the roads. Suspension duties on the motorcycle are taken care of by 41mm inverted forks on the front side and a central spring strut on the rear end.
