BMW CE 02 launched at ₹4.5L: Why it's called 'eParkourer'
BMW Motorrad has launched its CE 02 electric two-wheeler in India at ₹4.5 lakh (ex-showroom). This model comes after the launch of CE 04-the brand's first EV here, and is aimed at urban commuters. It is a cross between a moped and a scooter, and BMW markets it as an 'eParkourer.' The design of the CE 02 is minimalistic and purposeful, with just a few body panels and a structure built around its motor and battery pack.
Performance and charging specs
The CE 02 comes with an air-cooled synchronous motor and a 3.9kWh battery, giving it a range of 108km. It can zoom from 0-50km/h in just three seconds and has a top speed of 95km/h. If you're wondering about charging, the scooter's battery can be fully juiced up in five hours and 12 minutes with the standard charger. If you're in a hurry, a more powerful charger can do it in 3.5 hours.
Design and color options
The CE 02 has a cool design with its double-loop steel frame, held up by inverted front forks and an adjustable mono-shock unit at the rear. It's got 14-inch wheels and comes with a 239mm disk at the front and a 220mm disk at the back for braking. You can grab this model in two shades: Cosmic Black and Cosmic Black II.
CE 02's trims and facilities
BMW offers the CE 02 in two trims, with the Highline version being the premium one. The standard scooter comes equipped with LED lamps, a Type-C charging port, two ride modes (Flow and Surf), stability control, reverse mode, single-channel ABS, keyless operation, anti-theft alarm and a 3.5-inch micro TFT panel. The Highline package adds an extra ride mode called Flash, colored tapes for contrast enhancement, golden anodized forks, and a tri-colored seat among other features.
Safety features and availability
The CE 02 comes packed with safety features like Automatic Stability Control (ASC), Recuperation Stability Control (RSC), and ABS on the front disk. You can now book this eParkourer at all BMW Motorrad dealerships in India, and deliveries are expected to start soon.
