₹11.5L for a scooter? What makes BMW's latest launch special
What's the story
BMW Motorrad has launched the 2025 iteration of its C 400 GT maxi-scooter in India. It comes at ₹11.5 lakh (ex-showroom), which is ₹25,000 more than its predecessor.
While the design of the new model hasn't changed much, it comes with a redesigned windscreen and a lower seat height for improved accessibility.
In India, imported vehicles are subject to significant import duties and taxes. This greatly increases the final price of the BMW C 400 GT.
Special edition
Exclusive variant and standard features
The 2025 BMW C 400 GT also comes in an Exclusive variant. This model features golden alloy wheels, brake calipers, and graphics, along with an embroidered emblem on the seat.
It also gets a slightly tinted windscreen, floor lighting with BMW logo projection, and stainless-steel floorboard inserts.
These additional features can be availed at an extra cost over the standard trim price.
Upgrades
Enhanced features and storage capacity
The 2025 BMW C 400 GT also comes standard with lean-sensitive ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), and Engine Drag Torque Control (MSR).
It also features a 10.25-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity and USB-C charging port.
The scooter's storage capacity has been massively improved, providing an underseat storage space of up to 37.6-liter, a bigger front storage compartment, and boot space.
Performance
Engine specifications and design options
The 2025 BMW C 400 GT is driven by a 350cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 33.5hp at 7,500rpm and torque of 35Nm at 5,750rpm.
The scooter has a fuel capacity of up to 12.8-liter and weighs up to 214kg (kerb) overall.
