Bentley Continental GT V8 PHEV previewed: Check what's new
Bentley has released the first images of the forthcoming Continental GT, hinting at some design enhancements over its predecessor. The pictures showcase a revamped headlamp shape, more rounded and featuring a teardrop design inspired by the exclusive Batur. This new model will be Bentley's inaugural venture into 'ultra-performance hybrid' technology, replacing the traditional W12 engine with a V8 hybrid powertrain.
New Continental GT features V8 hybrid powertrain
The new Continental GT will be powered by an upgraded 4.0-liter V8 engine paired with a single electric motor, expected to be integrated into the gearbox. This combination generates a robust 782hp and a peak torque of 1,001Nm, surpassing the power of the W12 engine in the Batur. While official performance figures are yet to be released, it is anticipated that this model will outperform its predecessor's 0-100km/h sprint time of 3.6 seconds.
Enhanced features for dynamic performance in new model
The fourth-generation Continental GT will maintain its dynamic character with the addition of new dual-valve dampers and modified active anti-roll bars. The car will also feature updated torque vectoring and four-wheel steering systems, ensuring improved handling and performance. Following its global launch, Bentley plans to introduce the new Continental GT PHEV in India as a replacement for the current model.
