Benelli TRK 502 range to get full-color LCD displays: Report
Italian automaker Benelli is working on launching the updated versions of its adventure motorcycles, the TRK 502 and TRK 502X. According to a report, this range of motorcycles, which is known as Qianjiang BJ500GS in China, will get a bunch of updates, including a new full-color instrument cluster and other minor cosmetic tweaks. Here are more details.
A look at both the motorcycles
The Benelli TRK 502 range would retain the styling cues of the outgoing model. The motorcycles will sport a similar off-road friendly design with raised seat height, rugged tires, and decent ground clearance. However, as part of the update, both the models will get a full-color TFT LCD instrument console, a new seat, and redesigned rear-view mirrors.
Power and performance
The updated Benelli TRK 502 line-up is expected to retain the mechanical specifications of the current model. Hence, the new models should get a 500cc liquid-cooled engine and a 6-speed manual gearbox. The motor churns out 47.58PS of power and 46Nm of peak torque.
Benelli TRK 502 range: On the road
In the safety department, the Benelli TRK 502 and TRK 502X will come equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with dual-channel ABS as standard. The suspension duties on the motorcycles are taken care of by inverted telescopic forks on the front and a mono-shock unit on the rear.
And, when these motorcycles will be launched in India?
Notably, the India-specific Benelli TRK 502 range is yet to receive the BS6 update. Hence, going by the reports, the Italian automaker is likely to launch the BS6-compliant TRK 502 line-up along with these updates. As for the pocket-pinch, the motorcycles would carry a significant premium over the current line-up that starts at Rs. 5.1 lakh.
