Benelli TRK 251, Leoncino 250 to launch in India soon
After introducing its high capacity Leoncino 500 bike, Benelli India is all set to launch the entry-level TRK 251 and the Leoncino 250 motorcycles in the country sometime around the end of 2019. The TRK 251 is an off-road bike suited for adventure touring, while the Leoncino 250 is a retro-styled naked motorcycle. Here's our roundup.
Let's take a look at both the motorcycles
Benelli TRK 251 is an off-road motorcycle that features a semi faired look with a transparent windshield, split seats, dual-tone paint job, a high ground clearance, and blacked-out alloy wheels. On the other hand, the Leoncino 250 is a scrambler-styled naked motorcycle that borrows its styling from its elder sibling, the Leoncino 500.
Power and performance
Both the Benelli TRK 251 and Leoncino 250 draw power from a 249cc liquid cooled, single cylinder, DOHC engine which is capable of producing 25.83PS of power at 9,250rpm and 21.2Nm of peak torque at 8,000rpm.
Benelli TRK 251, Leoncino 250: On the road
On the safety front, the Benelli TRK 251 and Leoncino 250 come equipped with 280mm and 240mm disc brakes on the front and rear wheels, respectively. For improved road handling, the bikes also offer dual-channel ABS. To handle suspension duties, both the motorcycles house 41mm upside-down forks (USD) suspension on the front and a mono-shock unit on the rear.
Finally, what about pricing?
In India, the Benelli TRK 251 and Leoncino 250 are expected to arrive at around Rs. 2.3 lakh and Rs. 2.2 lakh, respectively. However, official details will be revealed during the launch event itself. Lastly, the TRK 251 will lock horns with Royal Enfield Himalayan and BMW G310 GS while the Leoncino 250 will go up against KTM 250 Duke and Yamaha FZ 25.
