EICMA 2019: Benelli unveils India-bound Leoncino 800 scrambler motorcycle
Italian automaker Benelli has unveiled its much-anticipated motorcycle, the Leoncino 800, at the ongoing EICMA show in Milan, Italy. The newly launched model, positioned on top of the Leoncino line-up, joins the already available 500cc and 250cc models. The company is also expected to bring the all-new scrambler to Indian shores sometime in 2020. Here's all about it.
Benelli Leoncino 800: At a glance
The Leoncino 800 sits on an exposed steel trellis frame and features a naked street design with dual-tone body color, flat seat, and a bigger fuel tank as compared to 500cc and 250cc models. The motorcycle also gets an oval shaped headlamp, 17-inch spoke wheels, and golden-colored front forks. Besides that, it comes with a fully-digital TFT instrument cluster and an all-LED lighting setup.
Power and performance
The Leoncino 800 is powered by a 754cc, liquid-cooled engine which is capable of producing 81bhp of power and 67Nm of peak torque. For transmission duties, it gets a six-speed manual gearbox along with a slipper clutch. Moreover, the motorcycle promises a top-speed of 190kmph.
Here's a look at the safety and suspension setup
On the safety front, the Leoncino 800 houses Brembo-sourced 320mm disc brake on the front, 260mm disc brake on the rear, along with dual-channel ABS to improve braking efficiency. The motorcycle comes with 50mm Marzocchi's upside-down forks on the front and a pre-loaded adjustable monoshock unit on the rear to handle the suspension duties.
When will it come to India?
As of now, Benelli has not revealed the availability and pricing details of the Leoncino 800. However, considering that the Italian automaker sells Leoncino's 250cc and 500cc models in India, we expect the newly launched motorcycle to hit Indian roads sometime next year.
