Benelli Leoncino 500 launched in India for Rs. 4.79 lakh
Italian automaker Benelli has finally launched its retro-styled motorcycle, the Leoncino 500, in India at Rs. 4.79 lakh. The Leoncino 500 comes as the company's most affordable mid-capacity motorcycle in the country. Meanwhile, the bookings for the bike are underway via Benelli's official website and dealerships at a token amount of Rs. 10,000. Here's our roundup.
Benelli Leoncino 500: At a glance
The Benelli Leoncino features a naked street look with the dual-tone paint job, blacked-out spoked wheels, and rounded headlamps as well as rounded mirrors. As for electronic features, the motorcycle packs a digital instrument console and gets LED headlamps with DRLs along with the LED taillights and indicators. Furthermore, the bike has a fuel tank capacity of 13.5-liter and a wheelbase 1,460mm.
Power and performance
The Benelli Leoncino 500 is fueled by a 499.6cc liquid-cooled, two-cylinder, DOHC engine which can produce 47.5PS of power at 8,500rpm and 46Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. Further, the engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.

On the safety front, the Benelli Leoncino 500 comes equipped with 320mm disc brakes on the front and 260mm disc brakes on the rear wheels along with dual-channel ABS to avoid skidding while braking. To handle suspension duties, the motorcycle houses 50mm Upside Down Forks (USD) on the front along with a monoshock suspension on the rear.

As for the pocket pinch, the Benelli Leoncino 500 is priced at Rs. 4.79 lakh in India. Internationally, the motorcycle is available in three variants: Standard, Sport, and Trail. However, for now, the company has only introduced the Standard model in India.
