Benelli Leoncino 500 to be launched in August
Benelli is all set to launch its retro-styled motorcycle, the Leoncino 500, in India sometime around the first week of August 2019. The upcoming Leoncino 500 will also be one of the most affordable 500cc Benelli motorcycles in India. Internationally, it is available in three variants: Standard, Sport, and Trail. However, the company will only introduce the standard variant in India. Here's more.
Let's take a look at the Benelli Leoncino 500
The Benelli Leoncino 500 sports a naked street design featuring a dual-tone paint job with a bulbous headlamp and black claddings on the fuel tank. The motorcycle gets a digital instrument console and an all-LED lighting setup including LED headlamps with DRLs, LED taillights and indicators. Moreover, the bike sits on a tubular steel trellis frame and has a wheelbase of 1,460mm.
Under the hood
The Benelli Leoncino 500 is powered by a 499.6cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine which is capable of producing 47.58PS of power at 8,500rpm and 46Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. For transmission duties, the motorcycle gets a six-speed manual gearbox.
Benelli Leoncino 500: On the road
For braking performance, the Benelli Leoncino 500 comes equipped with 320mm dual-disc setup up front as well as a 260mm single disc on the rear. The motorcycle also gets dual-channel ABS for better road handling. Further, it gets 50mm Upside Down Forks (USD) suspension on the front and a monoshock unit on the rear to handle suspension duties.
Finally, what will be the pricing?
In India, the Benelli Leoncino 500 is expected to fall in the Rs. 4.5-4.8 lakh price bracket. At this price point, the motorcycle will go up against rivals such as Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Ducati Scrambler Icon.
