Benelli Leoncino 250 superbike expected to be launched next year
Benelli is gearing up to launch the Leoncino 250 in India sometime around early 2020. The Italian automaker has already made its name in the 500cc category, and now it is eyeing to attract consumers from the 250cc segment. Meanwhile, it is expected that the company will introduce the entry-level cruiser during Auto Expo 2020 in February. Here's our roundup.
Benelli Leoncino 250: At a glance
The Benelli Leoncino 250 features a naked style design similar to its elder sibling, the Leoncino 500. The motorcycle comes with a dual-tone paint scheme, rounded headlamp as well as mirrors, and a blacked-out treatment on the engine and alloy wheels. As for electronic features, it houses a fully-digital instrument console and an all-LED lighting setup for headlamps, turn indicators, and taillamps.
Power and performance
The Benelli Leoncino 250 is powered by a 249cc liquid-cooled, single cylinder engine which comes mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. This engine is capable of producing 25.83PS of maximum power and 21.2Nm of peak torque.

On the safety front, the Leoncino 250 comes equipped with 280mm disc brake on the front, 240mm disc brake on the rear, and dual-channel ABS to avoid skidding while braking. Also, the motorcycle houses 41mm upside-down (USD) forks on the front and a monoshock unit on the rear to handle the suspension duties.
Finally, what about pricing?
There is no official word about Leoncino 250's pricing in India as of now. However, going by the specs, we expect it to cost somewhere around Rs. 2.5 lakh. Once launched, it will lock horns with rivals like KTM-390-duke'>KTM 390 Duke and Honda CB250R.
