Benelli to launch a more powerful version of Imperiale 530
After tasting success with the Imperiale 400 entry-level cruiser, Italian automaker Benelli is working to launch a more powerful model, featuring 530cc engine, of the Imperiale, soon. The patent images of the upcoming motorcycle have been leaked online, revealing its key design highlights and hinting at an imminent launch. Here are more details.
How will it look like?
Going by the leaked images, the upcoming Imperiale 530 will borrow its styling cues from the Imperiale 400. The motorcycle will come with the same retro-styled look featuring a bulbous headlamp, rounded indicators, tear-drop shaped fuel tank, and spoked wheels. However, unlike the split seats present on the 400cc model, the upcoming 530cc motorcycle will house a dual-tone single-piece seat.
Power and performance
The Benelli Imperiale 530 will draw power from a 530cc single-cylinder engine that is likely to produce 30hp of maximum power. For reference, the Imperiale 400 is fueled by a 374cc air-cooled engine that churns out 21PS of maximum power and 29Nm of peak torque.
Benelli Imperiale 530: On the road
In the safety department, the Benelli Imperiale 530 will come equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with dual-channel ABS as standard for improved road handling. To manage suspension duties, the motorcycle will house conventional telescopic forks up front and dual-shock absorbers on the rear - similar to the 400cc model.
And, when will it be launched?
Benelli is likely to reveal the Imperiale 530 by the end of this year, followed by an India launch sometime in 2021. As for the pocket-pinch, it will be priced above the Imperiale 400, which costs Rs. 1.79 lakh in the country. Once launched, the bike will lock horns with the likes of Honda Rebel 500 and Royal Enfield 650 Twins.
