Bajaj Auto working on an adventure bike: Expected features
Bajaj Auto, a prominent Indian motorcycle manufacturer, is developing a new adventure bike. This speculation has been fueled by recent spy shots, showing a motorcycle with a distinct adventure (ADV) style, and design elements reminiscent of the Pulsar series. This news follows closely after Bajaj's launch of its largest Pulsar model yet, the NS400Z, in the Indian market.
Spy shots reveal Pulsar-inspired features
The spy shots reveal a prototype with a striking headlamp, and USD front forks. The side view shows a raised but slender fuel tank with understated shrouds, hinting at standard ADV features. The split-seat design merging into the fuel tank, an upright riding position, and elevated handlebar suggest an adventure bike design. A heightened stance at the back highlights the long-travel rear mono-shock, while a split LED taillight suggests this model might be part of the Pulsar family.
Bajaj's potential entry into adventure motorcycle category
While Bajaj has not confirmed these developments, it is speculated that it might soon make its debut in the adventure motorbike segment. Currently, Bajaj does not offer an ADV motorcycle in its range. The spy photos reveal a small capacity, air-cooled engine in the prototype, likely to be a 125-150cc motor. Thin tires on both wheels further support this theory.
Naming and future plans for Bajaj's adventure bike
Bajaj might initially launch a small-capacity motorcycle in its adventure bike venture, before competing in the 400cc segment against models like Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure. There are also rumors that Bajaj might revive the AS moniker with its first commuter-adventure motorbike, potentially naming it Pulsar AS, followed by engine capacity as suffix, like Pulsar AS125 or Pulsar AS150.
