Bajaj Pulsar NS160 gets a new color option in India
Bajaj Auto has introduced a new dual-tone color option for its Pulsar NS160 motorbike in India. The paintwork sports a white finish on the fuel tank and fairings, while components such as headlight cowl, fenders, alloy wheels, and grab rails are painted black. Red highlights accentuate the two-wheeler's sporty nature. However, the bike's design, features, and mechanicals remain unchanged.
Why does this story matter?
The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 is quite a popular bike in India and by introducing a new color option, the company wants to boost its sales in the market. The entry-level model has been priced affordably on our shores and takes on rivals such as the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Hero Xtreme 160R, and the Yamaha MT-15.
The bike has an underbelly exhaust and split-style seats
The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 sits on a perimeter frame and has a muscular fuel tank with extensions, split-style seats, a pillion grab rail, and an underbelly exhaust. The motorcycle packs a semi-digital instrument console, a halogen headlamp, an LED taillight, and rides on alloy wheels. It can store 12 liters of fuel, has a ground clearance of 177mm, and tips the scales at 151kg.
It is fueled by a 15hp, 160cc engine
The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 draws power from a BS6-compliant 160cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine linked to a 5-speed gearbox. The mill generates a maximum power of 15.3hp and a peak torque of 14.6Nm.
It gets single-channel ABS
To ensure the safety of the rider, the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 is equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with single-channel ABS to avoid skidding on the roads while braking. Suspension duties on the motorcycle are taken care of by telescopic forks on the front side and a gas-charged mono-shock unit on the rear end.
Bajaj Pulsar NS160: Pricing
In India, the new color option of the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 carries a price tag of Rs. 1.19 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The other shades of the vehicle also bear the same price figure.
