Bajaj Pulsar N125 found testing in India: Expected features
Homegrown automaker Bajaj Auto is said to be testing a new commuter motorbike, speculated to be the Pulsar N125. This addition could potentially expand the company's current market offerings in India, which include the N150, N160, and the N250 models. The Pulsar N125 is expected to be based on the platform of the existing Pulsar N150. Here's everything we know.
Design revealed in spy shots
The Pulsar N125 is likely to feature a diamond chassis, suspended by telescopic forks and a mono-shock. Spy images reveal 17-inch alloy wheels identical to those on the Pulsar N150. The braking setup seems to include a front disc brake and a rear drum brake. Despite heavy camouflage, the design appears similar to that of the Pulsar N150.
Expected features and market positioning
Unlike its larger counterparts, the N125 is expected to use a multi-reflector LED unit instead of a projector LED headlight. The bike's sporty design theme is complemented by an upswept tail section and sharp extensions on the fuel tank. The rider's seating position appears upright with slightly rear-set footpegs. The new model may come equipped with LED lights, and a digital instrument cluster featuring Bluetooth connectivity, but might lack navigation functionality.
Pulsar N125 aims to attract younger buyers
The introduction of the Pulsar N125 is aimed at attracting younger buyers to Bajaj showrooms. The premium 125cc commuter motorbike space has seen significant demand recently, with models like TVS Raider leading in sales. The Hero Xtreme 125R is another recent entrant that has quickly made its mark, prompting Hero to raise its production to 25,000 units per month. Bajaj's entry into this market segment with the Pulsar N125 could help them secure a share of this growing demand.
