Bookings for Bajaj Chetak electric scooter now open in India
Bajaj Auto Limited has started accepting online bookings for its Chetak electric scooter in India, on payment of Rs. 2,000. The cancellation charges stand at Rs. 1,000. To recall, the company had stopped the vehicle's bookings in September 2020 due to the supply chain issues. As for the highlights, the vehicle has a full-LED lighting setup and delivers a range of 95km per charge.
The scooter has a digital instrument cluster
The Bajaj Chetak sits on a robust steel frame and features an indicator-mounted front apron, a flat-type seat with a pillion grab rail, an oval-shaped headlamp, and touch-sensitive switches. It packs a digital instrument console, an all-LED setup for lighting, and rides on blacked-out alloy wheels. The vehicle is up for grabs in two variants and six color options.
It promises a 95km range
The Bajaj Chetak packs an electric motor and a Lithium-ion battery pack. The powertrain generates 5hp of power and a peak torque of 16Nm. The battery can be fully charged in five hours and delivers a range of 95km on a single charge.
A combined braking system ensures safety
To ensure the safety of the rider, the Bajaj Chetak is equipped with a disc brake on the front wheel and a drum brake on the rear wheel, along with a combined braking system for improved handling. Suspension duties on the electric scooter are taken care of by leading-link forks on the front side and a mono-shock unit on the rear end.
Bajaj Chetak: Pricing and availability
The Bajaj Chetak is currently priced at Rs. 1.15 lakh for the Urbane model and Rs. 1.20 lakh for the Premium variant (both prices, ex-showroom). The bookings for the electric scooter have commenced again.
