Auto Expo 2020: Suzuki unveils its BS6-compliant two-wheeler lineup
To meet the upcoming stricter emission norms, Suzuki has updated its entire two-wheeler line-up in India with BS6-compliant engines. The Japanese automaker has unveiled the new models at the ongoing Auto Expo, but the prices of the emission-friendly variants will be revealed at a later stage. Here's a look at all the Suzuki two-wheelers that have received the BS6 treatment.
Suzuki Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250
The Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250, the quarter-liter siblings of the company, are now BS6-compliant. The former features a naked-street design while the latter gets a fully-faired look. Both the models share the same mechanical specifications and are powered by a 249cc motor which is capable of producing 26.5bhp of power at 9,300rpm and 22.2Nm of peak torque at 7,300rpm.
Suzuki Gixxer 150 and Gixxer SF 150
Likewise, the low-capacity Gixxer 150 and Gixxer SF 150 have also received the BS6 update. These motorcycles are fueled by a 155cc engine that churns out 13.6bhp of power at 8,000rpm and 13.8Nm peak torque at 6,000rpm. Further, these models get an all-LED lighting setup and come equipped with disc brakes on both the wheels as well as single-channel ABS.
Suzuki Intruder
Meanwhile, Suzuki's cruiser motorcycle, the Intruder, is also BS6-compliant, now. The new variant retains the styling cues of the outgoing model and shares its mechanical specifications with the Gixxer 150 bikes. The cruiser houses an LED headlamp and comes equipped with disc brakes on both ends, along with single-channel ABS as standard.
Suzuki Burgman Street
Lastly, Suzuki has also showcased the BS6-compliant version of the Burgman Street scooter as well as its MotoGP variant. The scooter comes with a sporty look featuring an all-LED lighting setup and engine start-stop switch. Under the hood, it is powered by a 124cc air-cooled engine which is capable of producing 8.6bhp of power and 10.2Nm of peak torque.
