Audi Q8 to be launched in India on January 15
Audi Q8, which was expected to be launched in India by the end of this year, will arrive at our shores early next year. The German automaker has confirmed that it would launch its ultra-luxurious SUV in the country on January 15. Notably, the upcoming car will also be the second BS6 compliant vehicle by Audi after the recently launched A6 sedan. Here's more.
Audi Q8: At a glance
The Audi Q8 features a sporty design with a chrome-finished grille, silver-colored roof rails and skid plates, as well as 22-inch alloy wheels. It also houses dual exhausts and an LED strip on the boot lid that connects the taillamps. Further, the premium SUV offers an all-LED lighting setup as standard along with optional HD Matrix LED headlamps and 3D-effect DRLs.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the five-seater Audi Q8 sports a feature rich cabin with leather upholstery and fully-digital Audi's virtual cockpit setup. The SUV houses a 10.1-inch primary infotainment system, along with an 8.6-inch secondary touchscreen panel for managing climate control and other in-car functions. The car also gets driver-assist features like 360-degree cameras, lane change warning, curb warning, adaptive cruise assist, efficiency assist, and crossing assist.
Power and performance
The India-specific Audi Q8 will reportedly be powered by a BS6-compliant 3.0-liter TFSI petrol engine which is capable of producing 340bhp of maximum power. The transmission duties on the SUV will be handled by an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox and Audi's Quattro AWD system which sends power to all the four wheels.
And, how much will it cost?
There is no word on the pricing of Audi Q8 in India as of now. However, considering it will be positioned above the exiting Q7 range, you will have to shell out a lot of bucks (more than Rs. 1 crore).
