Audi reveals stunning A6 Avant e-tron Concept all-electric wagon
German automaker Audi has unveiled an all-electric wagon, the A6 Avant e-tron Concept. The production model will hit the market in 2024. Developed on the Volkswagen Group's new PPE electric platform, the wagon has a design similar to the A6 e-tron sedan. The car is similar in length to the fuel-powered A6 wagon and could be offered in both Allroad and RS variants.
Why does this story matter?
Audi's newly revealed Avant A6 e-tron Concept teases a wagon variant of the all-electric A6 that will come out in 2024. The concept car is identical to the first A6 e-tron concept, at least in terms of design as well as technology. Thanks to the new PPE platform, the Avant e-tron will also have a reduced charging time.
The wagon is flanked by LED projectors
The Audi A6 Avant e-tron Concept has an eye-catching design with a sculpted hood, a long roofline, a large closed single-frame grille, and sleek matrix LED headlights. On the sides, it has blacked-out B-pillars, sporty wheels, and LED projectors that can cast messages onto the ground or display a video game when the car is parked. A full-width OLED light strip graces the rear.
It has 100kWh battery that offers 700km range
The Audi A6 Avant e-tron Concept gets two electric motors and a 100kWh battery, which should promise a range of around 700km. The electric powertrain will generate 469hp/800Nm and the quickest variant will be able to sprint from 0-100km/h in under four seconds.
The vehicle should provide a feature-loaded cabin
While Audi has not revealed the interiors of the A6 Avant e-tron Concept, we expect it to have a premium cabin with automatic climate control, leather seats, multiple airbags, and a multifunctional steering wheel. On the technology side, there should be a fully digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment console with support for smartphone connectivity, and new-age safety features, including a 360-degree-view camera.
