Why does this story matter?
At a time when other automakers are increasing the prices of their models, Honda is offering discounts on its SP 125 motorbike. This is likely to raise its appeal in the market. The vehicle is part of a very competitive segment on our shores and takes on rivals such as the Hero Glamour, Bajaj Pulsar 125, and TVS Raider 125.
The bike is available in five colors
The Honda SP 125 sits on a diamond-type frame and has a sloping fuel tank with extensions, a stepped-up single-piece seat with a pillion grab rail, and a side-mounted exhaust. The bike packs an all-LED setup for lighting, a digital instrument console, and rides on alloy wheels. It is up for grabs in five shades, namely red, blue, green, gray, and black.
It is fueled by an 11hp, 124cc engine
The Honda SP 125 draws power from a BS6-compliant 124cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke engine paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The mill generates a maximum power of 10.72hp at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 10.9Nm at 6,000rpm.
It gets a combined braking system
To ensure the rider's safety, the Honda SP 125 is equipped with a disc/drum brake on the front wheel, a drum brake on the rear wheel, and a combined braking system for better handling on the roads. Suspension duties on the motorcycle are taken care of by telescopic forks on the front end and a hydraulic shock absorber on the rear end.
