Aprilia Tuono, RS 660 bikes available for booking in India
Prior to their launch in the second quarter of 2021, Piaggio India has started accepting bookings for its Aprilia Tuono 660 and RS 600 motorcycles. The line-up will reportedly start at Rs. 13.09 lakh. As for the highlights, the bikes have an eye-catching design and offer many electronic riding aids. They run on a 659cc parallel-twin engine. The bikes are offered in three color options
Aprilia Tuono 660 has a semi-faired look and comes with an underbelly exhaust, while RS 660 has a fully-faired design and an upswept exhaust. They sport a raised windscreen, a stepped-up seat, a TFT instrument console, an all-LED lighting setup, and cast aluminium wheels wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tires. The bikes come in Lava Red, Apex Black, and Acid Gold colors.
They run on a 659cc, parallel-twin engine
The Aprilia Tuono 660 and RS 660 bikes are powered by a 659cc, parallel-twin engine linked to a quickshifter. On the Tuono 660, the mill makes 95hp of maximum power, 67Nm of peak torque, and is linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Meanwhile, on the RS 660, the motor churns out 99hp/67Nm and is mated to an Aprilia Quick Shift (AQS) transmission.
Disc brakes on both the wheels ensure safety
The Aprilia Tuono 660 and RS 660 are equipped with disc brakes on both the wheels, along with 3-level cornering ABS, action control, adjustable wheelie control, cruise control, and engine braking control. They also have five riding modes: Dynamic, Individual, Commute, Challenge, and Time Attack. Suspension duties on the motorcycles are handled by telescopic front forks and a mono-shock unit on the rear end.
Aprilia Tuono 660 and RS 660: Pricing and availability
Aprilia Tuono 660 and RS 660 will be brought to India as completely built units (CBUs) and their deliveries will start once they are launched later this year. They will reportedly be priced at Rs. 13.09 lakh and Rs. 13.39 lakh, respectively (all prices, ex-showroom).
