Aprilia launches its cheapest bike in India at ₹4L
What's the story
Italian motorcycle manufacturer, Aprilia, has launched its most affordable offering for the Indian market - the Tuono 457.
With a price tag of ₹3.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the latest model undercuts its sibling, the RS 457 by ₹25,000.
First unveiled at EICMA 2024, the bike is now available for booking here with deliveries expected to start in March.
Aesthetic appeal
Unique design and color options
The Tuono 457 flaunts a unique design, unlike other models such as the Tuono 660 or Tuono V4 available internationally.
It gets a center-set LED headlight with LED DRLs on either side, extended tank shrouds, an exposed frame, split-style seats, and a floating tail section. The motorbike also gets an underbelly exhaust for enhanced sportiness.
Aprilia is offering the Tuono 457 in two color variants: Piranha Red and Puma Gray.
Performance
Engine specifications and additional features
The Tuono 457 is powered by a 457cc parallel-twin engine, which we have already seen in the RS 457.
The motor produces a power of 46.9hp and a torque of 43.5Nm, mated to a six-speed gearbox. An optional quickshifter is also available for the model.
The bike features traction control, ride modes, switchable ABS and a color TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity.
Safety
Suspension and braking system
The Tuono 457's suspension system comprises preload-adjustable USD forks and a mono-shock.
Braking duties are taken care of by disk brakes at both front and rear, aided by dual-channel ABS.
These elements are mounted on 17-inch wheels for enhanced performance.
The motorcycle also gets slightly shorter gearing, thanks to a rear sprocket that is one tooth larger than the one on its sibling, the RS 457.
Cost
Pricing and warranty
Despite being the cheapest model from Aprilia, Tuono 457 comes ₹1 lakh pricier than KTM 390 Duke and ₹45,000 costlier than Yamaha MT-03.
To sweeten the deal for potential customers, Aprilia is also offering a three-year warranty along with complimentary service for three years on this new model.
This move is aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction and trust in their products.
