Aprilia Tuareg 660 launched in India at ₹19 lakh
What's the story
Italian motorcycle manufacturer Aprilia has officially launched the much-awaited Tuareg 660 in India.
The adventure bike is priced between ₹18.85 lakh and ₹19.16 lakh (ex-showroom). It has stylish looks, a long list of riding aids, and a powerful 659cc engine.
Alongside this launch, Aprilia has also revised the costs for its flagship model, the RSV4 Factory, and the 660 twins.
Performance
It features a powerful 659cc engine
The Tuareg 660 is fueled by a liquid-cooled, 659cc, 270-crank parallel-twin engine, similar to the RS and Tuono 660 models.
This powertrain delivers an impressive performance of 80hp at 9,250rpm and a torque of 70Nm at 6,500rpm.
Despite being a twin-cylinder ADV motorcycle, it weighs just 204kg due to its compact design and an efficient fuel tank capacity of 18 liters.
Design
Tuareg 660 is designed for off-road terrains
The Tuareg 660 is built on a tubular steel frame that utilizes the engine as a stressed member, similar to Aprilia's other 660 models.
The suspension system includes inverted front forks and a rear mono-shock unit, both fully adjustable and supplied by KYB.
With an impressive wheel travel of up to 240mm at both ends, the bike is engineered to handle off-road terrains with ease.
Braking system
It is equipped with an advanced braking mechanism
The braking system of the Tuareg 660, includes twin 300mm disc brakes with axial Brembo calipers, and a single rear disc of 260mm paired with a single-piston caliper.
The motorcycle also features wire-spoked wheels of sizes 21/18-inch and tubeless Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires sized at 90/90-21 (front) and 150/70-R18 (rear), enhancing its off-road capabilities.
Rider aids
Tuareg 660 offers several electronic rider aids
Aprilia's latest offering, the Tuareg 660, comes equipped with a host of electronic rider aids.
These comprise multiple levels of traction control, engine braking, cruise control, four riding modes (two preset and two customizable), and switchable dual-channel ABS.
The motorcycle can be purchased in India via the Completely Built-Up (CBU) route in three color variants.
These include Atreides Black and Canyon Sand priced at ₹18.85 lakh, and Dakar Podium livery at ₹19.16 lakh.
