Acura is the first Japanese luxury vehicle brand under the automaker Honda. Currently headquartered in California, US, the company was founded in March 1986 in Canada and the United States, and later introduced to Hong Kong in 1991. Acura introduced its first flagship car, the Legend, in late 1980s followed by the NSX in 1990, and the MDX in early 2000s. The company’s logo is a caliper, a design tool used for measuring, that can also be perceived as an ‘H’ for Honda or an ‘A’ for Acura. Its current portfolio includes sedans like the ILX and TLX, SUVs like RDX and MDX, Type S models, as well as the PMC Editions.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the US has launched an investigation into complaints of possible engine failure, in some 1.4 million Honda and Acura (Honda's performance division) vehicles.
