India's first hybrid motorcycle debuts at ₹1.45L: Check mileage figures
What's the story
Yamaha has launched India's first hybrid motorcycle in the 150cc category, the 2025 FZ-S Fi Hybrid.
The bike, which is priced at ₹1.45 lakh (ex-showroom), comes with a host of new features and an updated engine.
Although official figures are yet to be revealed, the bike is anticipated to achieve over 50km/l fuel economy, an improvement over the non-hybrid variant's nearly 45km/l.
Advanced features
Engine and hybrid technology of the FZ-S Fi
The 2025 Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid is powered by a 149cc 'Blue Core' engine, which is OBD2 compliant.
It features Yamaha's Smart Motor Generator (SMG) and Stop & Start System (SSS), enabling quieter starts, better acceleration with battery support, and improved fuel efficiency.
The SSS automatically shuts the engine down when idling and restarts it quickly when the clutch is engaged.
Upgrades
Enhanced comfort and connectivity in the new model
The 2025 FZ-S Fi Hybrid comes with a 4.2-inch full-colour TFT instrument cluster that can connect with smartphones using the Y-Connect app.
The feature offers Turn-by-Turn (TBT) navigation connected to Google Maps, offering real-time directions, navigation index, intersection details, and road names.
Yamaha has also optimized the handlebar position for improved comfort and revised switchgear for better accessibility to riders.
The model comes in two color options: Racing Blue and Cyan Metallic Grey.
