
Land Rover's most-powerful and toughest Defender SUV launched at ₹2.6cr
What's the story
Land Rover has launched its most extreme off-road luxury SUV, the Defender Octa, in India.
The vehicle is a modified version of the standard Defender and starts from ₹2.59 crore (ex-showroom) for the base model.
The limited-edition Octa One, which is only available during its first production year, is priced at ₹2.79 crore.
The new model boasts several unique design elements setting it apart from the standard version, including revamped front and rear bumpers to enhance approach and departure angles.

Defender Octa's exterior and interior features
The Defender Octa is distinguished by its higher ride height, wider wheel arches, quad-exhaust tips, and new 20-22-inch wheels.
It also features a diamond graphic, gloss black diamond, and machined/sandblasted titanium disk.
Inside, the SUV is equipped with performance seats and a 700W Meridian-sourced surround sound system with 15 speakers.
The Octa mode tweaks ABS calibration, adjusts cabin lighting, alters exhaust sound, and adds an off-road function. It is touted as the brand's toughest Defender model.
Performance
Powerful engine and enhanced capabilities
The Defender Octa comes with a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which churns out a whopping 626hp of power and 800 Nm of peak torque. This makes it the most powerful Defender SUV currently on offer.
The motor comes mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission, enabling the car to go from 0-100km/h in just four seconds.
The Defender Octa also features a water-wading capacity of one meter (100mm more than standard Defender) and 323mm ground clearance.
