This Jeep all-electric off-roader looks similar to the Wrangler
What's the story
Jeep has officially unveiled its much-awaited all-electric off-roader, the 2025 Recon EV.
The images of this Wrangler-like vehicle were shared on the company's website, giving a glimpse of its doorless design and a revamped version of Jeep's signature seven-slot grille.
The Recon EV is expected to hit the US market sometime in late 2025.
Looks
Recon EV's design
Still in its pre-production phase, the 2025 Jeep Recon EV was previously teased in a Super Bowl commercial seen by an estimated 126 million people.
The vehicle comes with removable doors, just like the Jeep Wrangler.
Unlike conventional off-roaders with solid front and rear axles and four-wheel drive, the Recon EV will likely be equipped with dual electric motors for four-wheel traction.
Design
Off-road capabilities and interior
The Recon EV also looks off-road-ready with all-terrain tires, short overhangs, and a higher ride height for additional clearance.
Although the official images don't show the interior, spy shots have revealed a combination of digital screens with a passenger-side grab handle, a lockable center console, and buttons that double up as door handles.
Powertrains
Unique features and future plans
The Jeep Recon EV also comes with a rear-mounted spare tire as well as roof rails.
Notably, the car has red front and rear recovery hooks, instead of the usual blue on Jeep's electrified models.
This color change has led to speculation about possible petrol and hybrid powertrains for the Recon, in addition to its electric version.
More details are expected to be revealed in the coming months according to Jeep's website.
